I began working for GISD as a paraprofessional in 1996. After one and a half years of working as a para in first-grade reading, I attended Tarleton State University to obtain my teaching certificate. I have taught Kindergarten since 1997 and have enjoyed every minute of it.
Prior to working for Graham ISD, I managed Brazos Animal Hospital for thirteen years. I enjoyed my time with animals; however, my heart belongs to children now.
I am married to Tom “Doc” Lewis, retired athletic trainer and assistant athletic director for GISD. We have been married since 1990 and we have one child, Andrew. Andrew graduated from Graham High School in 2011 and from Oklahoma State University in 2014 with a degree in Turf Grass Management. He works in the horticulture industry/golf course construction. Our family is complete with our loved pets, Kimber, Aspen, and Goose. The family pets make frequent appearances in modeled writing lessons for the classroom.
