Welcome to Mrs. Conner’s Kindergarten Classroom.
Although this is my 16th year teaching, it is my first year at Pioneer Elementary, room #6. I am so excited to be apart of my hometown school district, and I know that we will have a great time learning and working together this year.
To let you know a little about myself, I graduated from Tarleton State University, in Stephenville, Texas, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. Later I earned my certification as an ELL (English Language Learner) teacher. I was hired shortly after graduation to teach kindergarten in Allen, TX. During that time, I also had the honor of helping open two new elementary schools. It was an incredible experience!
One summer while on vacation, my husband and I drove through Colorado Springs. We completely fell in love with the area, so, off we moved! While in Colorado, I went back to school and earned my Masters of Education in Curriculum Instruction with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). I pride myself on being able to implement strategies and techniques used in ABA to support students, in the classroom, reach their academic and behavioral goals. It is my hope to eventually sit for my exam to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
My husband, Matthew, and I lived in Colorado for 5 years before moving back to Texas to be closer to family when my grandmother became ill. Currently, my husband is a real estate and portrait photographer in Graham, and I am so happy to be teaching at Pioneer Elementary this year!! When not at school, my husband and I enjoy skiing, going to hockey and football games, traveling, and hiking with our four dogs, Wimberley, Rascal, Harper, and Sally.
