Physical education is a vital part of Pioneer Elementary. I believe that I have the most important job on campus as I get to be the first teacher to introduce them to the concept of physical literacy-that is the ability, confidence, and desire to be physically active for life. At Pioneer we are not training children to be athletes, we are striving to develop in them a love of movement and to foster a sense of cooperation and respect as they interact with their teammates in the gym. It is my goal as their first physical education/health teacher to stimulate their joy of moving, as well as to create awareness of their amazing body, and the need for a lifetime commitment to keeping it healthy.
